While we wait for the next entry in the Kirby series (and therefore the next galactic crisis Kirby has to stop), we figure it’s as good a time as any to rank the strongest final bosses that are most canonically powerful. Out of all of Nintendo’s big franchises, Kirby might be the one most famous for its dramatic final boss battles. The scale and scope of these clashes have only increased over the years, and it’s certainly reached a peak with 2022’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land. As new games in the series are released, more lore and story tidbits come out to help us better understand the incredibly dangerous world Kirby happens to live in.

Have you ever wondered how the famous pipes in the Mario series came to be? Thanks to creator Shigeru Miyamoto, we’ve got some insight.
Shumplations recently translated a classic interview that Game Maestro conducted with Miyamoto in 2000. As he stated during that discussion, Nintendo needed to come up with a way for enemies “that went to the bottom had to re-appear at the top of the screen.” Then while he was walking in Kyoto, he “saw a plastic pipe sticking out of a wall,” and that was the solution he came up with.

January 2: Some fans have been dying to see a new Punch-Out!! game – be it on Nintendo Switch or its successor. However, it looks like the wait will continue, and even if another entry happens, it may not be from Next Level Games.
Imran Khan, who writes for Venture Beat and is also with Kinda Funny Games (who previously leaked Everybody 1-2 Switch before it was announced), recently made a post on ResetEra claiming that he caught up with someone from “a studio close to Punch-Out” and heard that the characters in the Wii title received backlash relating to stereotypes, and the response was more than had been expected. It seems that following that, Nintendo more or less decided to pull the plug on continuing the franchise further.
