We’ve gathered all this information and more in our Super Mario RPG level up guide. There are light spoilers ahead, including a small reference to the game’s final area and all of the game’s party members, but nothing else too major. Keep that in mind before you continue.

Super Mario RPG launch trailer

Tying in with the launch of Super Mario RPG’s Switch remake, we have a launch trailer. It’s shorter than most of Nintendo’s usual videos, but should give fans a quick look at the game.

To recap, here’s what you can expect from Super Mario RPG:

PowerWash Simulator Back to the Future Special Pack DLC

Original (9/1): PowerWash Simulator is set to receive even more crossover DLC with the new Back to the Future Special Pack. Switch players can pick it up later this year.

The DLC involves hosing down iconic movie sets and props inspired by the Back to the Future franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. Doc Brown’s van, the Time Machine, Hill Valley Clocktower, the Holomax Theatre, and Doc’s Time Train will be included. Players will also be able to collect ten new achievements.

Super Mario RPG frame rate resolution

New details are available about the technical side of the Super Mario RPG Switch remake, including frame rate and resolution. This comes from a new video just shared by Digital Foundry today.

Here’s the full rundown:

Original (11/10): Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is back with a new gameplay overview trailer highlighting various aspects about the Switch game. Fans can get a look at the world of Nadiria and its environments, the monster wrangler elements, the arenas, and more.

Super Mario RPG reviews

Super Mario RPG is just about to get a big remake on Switch, and Nintendo has now lifted the official embargo on reviews. It’s the company’s last big release of 2023.

Super Mario RPG originally came out on the SNES, and the development team decided to fully upgrade the visuals. There are also some new elements this time around such as cinematics, the three-character Triple Move, powered-up bosses that can be challenged after beating the game, an updated soundtrack, and more.

Little Goody Two Shoes review

System: Switch
Release date: October 31, 2023
Developer: Astral Shift
Publisher: Square Enix Collective

Little Goody Two Shoes is the first game I’ve experienced that truly feels like a fairy-tale story come to life, and I’m not talking the family-friendly Disney variety. The quaint countryside village of Kieferburg may seem like your average sing-songy folk town at the surface, but murmurs of a witch in the woods and strange happenings nearby have residents becoming paranoid. To make matters worse, protagonist Elise is getting caught up in the middle of it all, after a strange supernatural encounter promises to grant her her life’s wish if she manages to complete strange tasks before the end of the week. What follows is a tense, often funny narrative adventure that frequently had me on the edge of my seat, even when the tedium of its time-management gameplay began wearing on my patience.

Super Mario RPG how long to beat

With the new remake of Super Mario RPG on the horizon, we’ve written an estimate on the game’s length and how long the main story will take to beat.

The original version is (somehow) over 25 years old. Hence its name, it was also the first RPG in the entire Mario franchise. That means it’s also a little bit longer than your average Mario game. It’s now receiving a full remake for Switch, and it’s due out on November 17. Given Super Mario RPG’s trailers, screenshots, and early marketing materials, the main story is largely unchanged compared to the original version on the SNES.

Super Mario RPG ROM leak

A week before launch, Super Mario RPG has seen its ROM leak online. This follows a number of other high-profile titles from Nintendo that met a similar fate.

One little tidbit from the leak reveals that the internal codename for the game is “Stella”. Otherwise we have reconfirmation that it was built with the Unity engine. We reported on that earlier today, along with the news that ArtePiazza of Dragon Quest fame appears to be the primary developer. You can read more about that here.
